SUMMARY:DAVE JORGENSON
DESCRIPTION:Dave Jorgenson is no newcomer to country music.  From a young age he has been slinging a guitar strap and entertaining audiences with songs that reflect his personal life and the real world of Midwestern America.  In Dave’s early years\, he was exposed to every type of music by his teenage friends\, and through his participation as a sax player in his high school band\, but his heart was always lured back to the songs that were a part of the rural\, blue-collar life he lived.  Dave is country. \nNow\, what happened between picking up his dad’s guitar at age seven and playing on stages in front of thousands is no short story…. \nDave was raised in the small town of Perry\, Kansas\, near the nation’s shortest highway (3/8 mile).  His natural ability to sing was discovered as a youth.  Encouraged by his friends and family\, he began to feel very comfortable behind a microphone with his guitar\, but it wasn’t until he graduated high school that he realized the potential of his voice and the songs he had begun to write.  Performing those songs in front of audiences gave Dave fulfillment\, and would form a dream that had to be followed. \nRight out of high school\, he decided to make his first bold move toward proving himself as a respected singer/songwriter by entering the GMC/True Value Country Showdown.  His rich vocals and easygoing manner made an immediate impression on both music fans and other musicians. Dave did not take top honors at his first competition\, but he turned the heads of the band that did win.  ‘Rio’ was already touring dance hall circuits in the Midwest and Rockies when they became acquainted with Dave that night.  Following the competition\, Dave formed the Kawboys with some of his high school friends and began performing in clubs and on stages around NE Kansas. After a year of experience as the lead vocalist for the Kawboys\, he again entered the GMC/True Value Country Showdown\, and this time went all the way to the Kansas finals. \nNot long after that\, Rio asked Dave to join them as lead vocalist and stand front and center in what would become the opening act for such country music greats as Chris LeDoux\, Patti Loveless and Lisa Brokop.  During his two-year ride with Rio\, he began to see some of the songs he had written becoming favorites with the audiences.  This inspired him to become a prolific songwriter\, composing hundreds of songs over the years. \nThe lush green hills in Kansas are a wonderful place for inspiration\, but Dave knew he would have to give up his homestead to gain notoriety. Although Nashville was known as a country music hotbed\, he decided to move to Austin.  The honkytonks and rustic atmosphere were more suitable to Dave’s music and personality than the lasers\, strobes and line dances that were gripping the country music scene at the time. \nDave and two fellow ‘RIOnians’ packed up\, headed south and reformed as a band that would become ‘Big Iron’.  Big Iron found themselves traveling back in time\, playing songs reminiscent of Ray Price\, Buck Owens\, Marty Robbins\, Merle Haggard and Bob Wills.  Big Iron would play Central Texas for nearly four years\, frequenting places like “The Broken Spoke”\, home of many country music legends. Then came another change for Dave. \nDave met Benny Mcarthur of “The Ace In the Hole Band”\, guitarist for George Strait.  Not only did Benny encourage him\, but he would also be the producer of Dave’s first solo album\, “Then and Now.”   Dave and Benny called upon some of Texas’ greatest musicians to get that honkytonk sound Dave has always loved. His second studio CD titled “We Have A Winner”\, co-produced by Dave and Texas music legend Tommy Detamore\, continued his unique\, hard driving honkytonk sound\, and helped to further establish him as a legitimate singer/songwriting force. As the miles pile up\, so do the experiences\, like doing shows with Mark Chesnutt\, Kevin Fowler\, The Bellamy Brothers\, Jason Boland and The Stragglers\, Merle Haggard\, Mo Bandy\, Perfect Stranger and Radney Foster\, to name a few. Dave’s travels have taken him around the globe to Melbourne\, Australia\, Shenzhen\, China\, Catalonia\, Spain\, Pontivy\, France\, and all over the Midwest. \nIt’s been no short journey\, but Dave’s music is a true reflection of the kind of person he is\, and what country is all about. He will be supporting his music with a cast of band members that carry his unique Texas country music to dance halls anywhere and everywhere.

SUMMARY:STATELINE BAND
DESCRIPTION:The Stateline Band merges honky-tonk with a rock’n’roll edge to create their self-proclaimed genre\, Texas Dancehall Country. Originally formed by drummer Patrick Quain in 2003\, lead singer Jody Dominguez would join the band in 2016 and the group would meet its current producer and fiddle player/vocalist Haydn Vitera (Asleep At The Wheel) in 2017 while opening for 90’s Country icon Rick Trevino in San Angelo\, TX.  Rounding out the current lineup are bassist/vocalist Scott Zajicek (Trent Willmon)\, guitarist Jeff James\, steel guitarist Stan Scantling and drummer/vocalist Kris Gordon. \nThe Stateline Band’s impact on the Texas country scene cannot be overstated. SUMMARY:FAST MOVIN' TRAIN
DESCRIPTION:Once upon a time there were five friends sitting in a bar that decided they have simply heard enough “bro country” for one lifetime. They asked each other\, “What happened to the music with meaning? The songs with a story to tell? What happened to bands where the guys on stage actually played on the studio recordings?” \nThese are the questions that burned through their minds until they finally decided enough is enough. \nAt that moment a faint light in the galaxy shimmered and as this light drew closer to earth it was accompanied by a loud roar and a plume of smoke that blustered from its glory. Soon this light was discovered to be a beacon of hope for mankind that good Country Music was steaming like a Fast Movin’ Train toward humanity…and all was right in the world!

SUMMARY:BOB APPEL BAND
DESCRIPTION:With unlikely roots for a country singer\, Northern California native Bob Appel was exposed to the neo-traditional country sounds of Alan Jackson\, Randy Travis\, George Strait\, Dwight Yoakam\, and Aaron Tippin as a teen. It took years to appreciate the poetic story-telling\, simple musical structure\, and heartfelt vocal performance evident in their songs\, and to understand that there was a common source of inspiration — one steeped in country music traditions from prior generations. It was through the allusions in the lyrics and sounds of these singers that Bob found the music of icons like Hank Williams\, Faron Young\, Ray Price\, Patsy Cline\, Jim Reeves\, George Jones\, Merle Haggard\, Willie Nelson\, Buck Owens\, and Wynn Stewart. After a few visits to the “home of country music”\, he was disillusioned by the commercialism he witnessed in the impersonal and overblown stadium shows\, selling songs that capitalize on modern trends rather than respecting country music’s rich tradition. After one visit to Austin\, Texas\, Bob found music brought back to the basics\, on a small stage with a small audience — a participatory audience with diverse ways of appreciating traditional country music\, whether two-stepping and waltzing\, tapping a foot\, singing along\, marveling at the fiddle and steel\, or simply reminiscing. Since moving to the live music capital in 2010\, after years of watching from a seat\, Bob Appel stands up every day and night — at dance halls\, festivals\, markets\, opry shows\, honky tonks\, beer joints\, and bars — bringing the musical traditions of times gone by to times yet to come.

SUMMARY:KRIS GORDON
DESCRIPTION:Kris Gordon was born to sing country music. It’s found in his West Texas Panhandle origins and his family musical legacy. You can hear it in his voice and his way with a song and witness it in his seasoned ability to get crowds dancing at every dancehall\, club and honky-tonk he plays. It’s also heard throughout the 10 songs on Gordon’s freshman debut album\, DON’T LET GO TONIGHT. It strikes a canny balance between the best of the time-honored Nashville sound and the Texas Country spirit. Gordon sings of joys\, sorrows\, mysteries and passions on emotive numbers with a romantic tick or rocking kick. His sophmore self entitled EP brought that austin honky tonk sound to a new level with hit songs like “Triple on the Double” and “Gets Me Everytime”. With the first single and video “The Upside of Down” leading the charge\, Gordon delivers an assured and winning collection of rooted contemporary country that’s right on time and on par to tackle the Texas scene and well beyond\, to wow fans in a much wider audience. His new EP titled “MAKE OUR OWN LOVE SONG” is scheduled to be released early 2019.

SUMMARY:DARRIN MORRIS
DESCRIPTION:With a show that has been forged in the fire on stages across the country and in their home state of Texas\, the group’s hard work is paying off. The band continues to build momentum performing at clubs\, casinos\, fairs and high profile events including the Longview Cattle Baron’s Ball\, the Great Texas Balloon Race and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. \nThe Darrin Morris Band began performing together in October 2012\, with just a few friends getting together to play at a local restaurant near Gilmer\, Texas where the group is based. Soon\, their camaraderie and common musical vision lit a fire and during the last seven years the group has played across their home state of Texas\, as well as Oklahoma\, Louisiana\, Arkansas\, Missouri\, Wyoming\, Kansas\, Nebraska and in Nashville\, Tennessee. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLead singer Darrin Morris first began singing as a teenager in the church where his father pastored. It was his love of Gospel combined with the influences of Country artists such as George Strait\, Garth Brooks and Keith Whitley that helped to shape the soulful vocal style that has become his trademark. Morris is joined in the group with the exceptional talents of Jeremy Moore on drums and backing vocals; Forest Johnson on bass guitar; Payton Pierce on lead guitar and Phillip Griffith on rhythm guitar. \nWith the success of their  chart-rising single\, and a well-received 2015 debut album Country To The Bone under their belt\, along with a mantle of awards from the East Texas Music Awards and the Nashville Universe Awards\, the Darrin Morris Band are making their mark and all signs point to a very promising future\, indeed.
